New Screens, Details, Video for UFC 2010

We’re only one day away from GameStop’s UFC 2010 play-the-game promotion in NYC, and GameSpot has the scoop on the latest additions to THQ’s newly-popular fighting series.

In the thirty-five-minute-long discussion that talks about a variety of upcoming gaming titles, UFC Undisputed 2010 is both discussed and previewed for a small portion of the video following a recent hands-on impression. In the video, among other strings of details, perhaps the most notable mention was in regards to submissions which will now say goodbye to its button-mashing ways and hello to submission-to-submission transitions.

GameSpot: “The fact that they are taking out the bushing mashing from submissions really makes it a lot more fair, because you can only do the sunshine with the right analog stick, going around in circles. And if you change submissions by hitting R3 I think it is, you then change to a different submission, so you can go from like a guillotine to like an arm bar. And if you are the one changing submissions, then you dictate which way [your opponent must rotate the analog stick to defend] so that means you can get one or two rotations in before the other person realizes they have to rotate the other way.”

Fighting against the cage, an improved dodging and counter system, and lots more to be expected in UFC 2010. To see some of the aforementioned in action, check out the video below. Discussion of UFC 2010 begins at the 7:00 mark, with new video footage beginning to make its appearance at around 9:00.
