New EA Sports MMA Impressions From IGN
The Game Developers Conference in San Francisco, CA is stirring the pot up once again for fighting game news, this time as IGN gets an updated impression of EA Sports MMA, the first mixed martial arts venture by the juggernaut sports game publisher.
While exactly how the ground game works is still being kept tightly under wraps by EA, we did learn quite a few new details about the upcoming MMA title; such as the fact that there will be about 20 different fighting styles available in the game to go along with more diverse rings than its UFC competitor.
One of the more interesting bits of information unveiled involved the way the countering system will work. Branded as “Feel The Fight” players will be able to decipher when a counter should be executed based upon the rumble feedback provided by the controller, where the length of the rumble is dependent on in-game factors such as where your stamina is at, and how damaged you are.
Other less important tidbits include damage to specific body parts, and blood that will actually transfer over to not only the mat, but your opponents as well. Too bad EA Sports MMA won’t have the UFC license to have B.J. Penn demonstrate this new feature.
