UFC 2010 Patch Arrives for Xbox, Developer Answers Questions

A mere three days after UFC 2010‘s first big patch unexpectedly went live for PS3 systems, THQ has confirmed that Microsoft has followed suit and quickly approved the patch for the Xbox 360. Users may now update their games and enjoy what should be a massive improvement in play compared to the video game’s dreadful release version.

Along with that confirmation THQ has provided a full list of changes coming with the new patch. Some of the information has been common knowledge for some time, such as the nerf to CAF ratings, but some of it is fresh like THQ’s commitment to wiping all online records.

“Along with the patch update, WE ARE RESETTING THE RANKED AND FIGHT CAMP ONLINE LEADERBOARDS EARLY NEXT WEEK. As mentioned, we are doing a complete leaderboard wipe to start everyone fresh given the magnitude of changes. All of your online leaderboard stats will still be saved in your offline profile, however your leaderboard rank and fight camp rank will be reset to 0. Any new ranked/fight camp leaderboard online stats will simply aggregate on top of your offline total.”

This is a great move as most records, both good and bad, were not fairly earned prior to this week’s patch. On a related note THQ has also posted the latest in their Developer Q&A series where UFC 2010 Lead Developer Omar Kendall takes some time to answer user-submitted questions so be sure to check that out.
