Earlier today a writer on Capcom’s official community site threw up a real treat of a blog highlighted by nine new incredible high-resolution, high-quality screenshots previewing Marvel vs. Capcom 3 action. These are must-see for MvC fans!

For those not familiar with the series, as its title suggests, the fighting game features characters from Marvel’s heroic comic books, along with many popular names from some of Capcom’s other video games. Although many details are still in the dark at this early stage, the “Capcom-unity” continues their efforts to provide updates on Marvel vs. Capcom‘s third installment, which is set for a Spring 2011 release.

“We’ve released a good amount of information about Marvel vs. Capcom 3 during our Captivate 2010 event and through the gaming media, but for today’s blog entry we wanted to show off some direct-feed screenshots of the game, which I think will give all of our fans a better impression of the game’s visuals than the ones that were published by the gaming press a while ago.”

As for the screenshots, they are simply stunning. The graphics in MvC3 are definitely an enormous upgrade from those of its 2009 predecessor. Characters and objects appear much more clearly defined, the texture shading looks vastly improved, and the colors are now extremely vibrant. Of course, they are just image stills, and it remains to be seen what the game looks like in motion or how it plays, but no doubt I am impressed so far.
