The June NPD video game sales numbers have just been released today, and UFC 2010 once again finds itself in a poor position.

The full summary of May and June NPD sales can be found here. May’s NPD data had the Xbox and PS3 versions of UFC Undisputed 2010 as the #4 and #5 most popular games sold respectively, but this month the title falls all the way to #8 and #10.

3. Red Red Redemption (PS3) – 380.3K
4. New Super Mario Bros. Wii – 200.9K
5. Just Dance – 174.8K

8. UFC 2010: Undisputed (360)
9. LEGO Harry Potter: Years 1-4 (Wii)
10. UFC 2010: Undisputed (PS3)
For a franchise that has already had loads of financial disappointments this year this isn’t a huge surprise, but THQ and the UFC cannot be happy in the least. At this rate UFC 2010, which was only just released May 25th, will be completely outside of the top 10 in the July NPD figures.
With a leaderboard reset nowhere in sight yet, many UFC 2010 players are becoming frustrated and are voicing their distaste for various aspects of the game on community forums. EA MMA won’t be released until October, but EA Sports has just announced on the official EA Sports MMA website that their video game is now available for pre-order in select stores. Fans who pre-order from one particular store will also be able to download a download an exclusive new fighter. continue to read »
